The mission of our center, which flows from the philosophy of Grace M. Eaton, is to provide quality childcare and educational development to children of working parents or parents enrolled in educational or job training programs.
Our mission is guided by the premise that children should have a right to affordable, quality childcare. Our longer-term goals at Grace M. Eaton include maintaining our high quality childcare programs and resources that meet the changing daily needs and challenges of working parents and their children.
A Chance To Grow
Children whose basic needs are met and satisfied during the formative years of their lives have a better chance to grow and develop into happy, healthy, well-adjusted adults physically. mentally, emotionally and spiritually.”
This opening sentence from an early handbook of the Grace M. Eaton Center is as relevant today as it was when the center was founded in 1926. The early years are critically important to everyone – and everyone should have the same chance to grow, regardless of our life situation.
Grace M. Eaton Center offers this chance. Staffed by caring, certified professionals, this lovingly maintained facility offers all children – from infants to 12-year-olds – the nurturing, knowledge and discipline all of us need to reach our full potential.
A Promise Fulfilled
The graduates of Grace M. Eaton Center have fulfilled the promise by becoming the people they and their parents knew they could be. They are professionals, business leaders and community volunteers. They are caring parents, committed husbands and wives, supportive members of their churches. They are what they were meant to be.
Only the Best is Good Enough
As a “3-star” child care center – the highest rating awarded by the State of Tennessee – Grace M. Eaton Center offers children and parents the kind of care and instruction expected of the country’s best child care centers…regardless of location. From low adult-to-child ratios, to individualized lesson plans, to carefully structured play and instructional areas and more, there are no compromises in meeting the Center’s mission of preparing children for success in life. We invite you to visit our classrooms to see this commitment to excellence in action every day.
We care about Parents, Too
No people have more influence on a child than his or her parents. Grace M. Eaton Center encourages parents to be actively involved in their child’s growth. In addition to ongoing communication, regularly scheduled parent/teacher conferences keep parents informed and answer their questions. Our Parent advisory Council helps us make the Center the best it can be. And our Parents Resource Center helps parents and grandparents to be the best they can be.
